Training 11 month old Border Collie Dot!.
Staying close at hand and not sending her too far too soon makes sure nothing too exposive happens!.
As you can see she is very  keen to get on with the job!
Ill have to get her to widen out and make her realize she should take her time!.
She is showing her natural ability to keep off of sheep now that she has settled.. She is showing some pretty fancy foot work!
She is a little tight on her left and will have to be widened out on that side.
Its best to let the youngsters enjoy themselves without putting to much pressure on them in the early days of training.!
Here i am making her take her time and asking her to walk up and steady!
She might be small but we all know good things come in small packages!  She is not afraid to face up to a sheep weighing around 70 kilos! Or around 120 pounds!
Dot shows a nice style, natural power and pluckiness.
She likes both hands left and right and is very biddable.  Dogs like this are a joy to own and train.  Dot will Stay with us and learn to work the hill and will be used for general farm chores..  She will be a mother one day as she has all the qualities we look for in a great brood bitch!.
